Warehouse Test

Well yesterday was quite a random day. I had been searching for a plain black umbrella with a hooked handle to use in a photograph. I had posted it up on facebook, asked around etc... Then I was informed that funeral homes tend to lend black umbrellas to mourners at funerals so maybe I should go and ask in a funeral home. Yes, quite random....but anyway, I followed through, knew people that worked in this particular spot and was brought into a room full of coffins and given a black umbrella to keep! It was perfect.
I then went to a local empty warehouse and did a few test runs of a couple of ideas:

Covering the mannequin in tinfoil to make a face mould.

We then covered the column in the middle of the room and part of the floor for testing purposes...got through a fair bit of tinfoil

Test shot for umbrella portrait...had a light bulb hanging inside the umbrella. Some pimpin needs to be done to the umbrella though: need to black it out, and put reflectors in the top.

Sample shot of the face mould from mannequin

Light bulb in old suitcase...

So a lot needs to be done in order to get some proper shots, but the bones of some ideas are in there somewhere at least!
