Just found some pictures from the making of Miracle Bell's Future Kings cover...thought it might be interesting to see how it all happened.
It all started out with a simple sketch after some brainstorming....
The lads then constructed a small set in a warehouse, in Jigginstown, Co. Kildare. We also found an old chair that was going to be thrown out, which suited the whole 'throne' type look. So that was painted white, using cheap ceiling paint, as were the wooden panels...
When all the painting was done, the lighting was set up and John was then painted with white face paint....(The paint on the chair was still wet at this stage )
The first shot were taken without any colour....
John then had to sit still while we painstakingly measured out geometric lines that ran from the top, down the walls, over the chair, his lap then onto the floor....That took about 2 hours....
Finally the painting was done, here's the set without the model....
So here's the final image, with editing etc...
Cool! But I must wonder how they chose John to sit in his pants on a chair with wet paint on.... That can't have been comfortable!
